Preservation Virginia is pleased to be partnering with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources to offer four workshop-type training opportunities in 2017. Located in different parts of the state, each workshop is intended to provide training for volunteer architectural review board members, city and county administrators and staff with whom they work, professionals in the field, students, and interested citizens. While the workshops satisfy ongoing training requirements for Certified Local Government (CLG) members, non-CLG review board members are equally encouraged to participate.
Preservation Virginia and DHR 2017 Workshop Series
Workshops will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at each of the dates/locations below. There is no cost to attend but advance registration is required. Each workshop is limited to 40 participants. You are encouraged to register early for one workshop only. Topics to be covered include working with the public, the environmental review process, archaeology advocacy, select training modules from Preservation Virginia's forthcoming online review board training program, case study small group exercises, and opportunities for networking and discussion.
