Your Special Event at the John Marshall House

Your Special Event at the John Marshall House

The John Marshall House, located in downtown Richmond, offers an oasis of green and calm in the busy downtown urban capitol of Virginia. First occupied in 1790, the house was built to be a warm home and a place of stability for the growing family of our longest serving Chief Justice of the United States, John Marshall. He lived in this residence for 45 years until his death in 1835. Originally the house sat on an entire city block, complete with outbuildings and a carriage house. Today, it shares space with the City Court House, but still offers an intimate garden setting that will make your special event or wedding unforgettable!

We offer many options for Business Meetings,

Special Events and Weddings.

Group Tours and Meeting Space

We can accommodate up to 30 people for a unique location to hold a meeting or small daytime function indoors. We can tailor a package that includes a group tour, meeting space and box lunches or coffee. Contact Ashley Ramey, site coordinator at the John Marshall House at johnmarshallhouse@preservationvirginia.org to set up your group tour and meeting event!

We recommend the box lunches at Richmond on Broad Cafe. Click here for their boxed lunch menu.
